We received a Christmas gift from some of our kids to try a new Zip Line in Sonoma County. We had an awesome time......8 zip lines total.........the longest being 800 feet. The highest point was 200 ft. off the ground. After the 8 zip lines, we repelled down about 80 feet. Some of the pictures are below, but we will try and add some more video later. Thanks kids, we had a great time.

After the zip lines, we were hungry and went to this old Hotel for lunch. This was our free brochette, in addition we had yummy pizza and bread.

I guess the stress and scariness of being 200 ft. in the air and zip lining across the Redwoods was too tiring for the kids. Mom and I got a kick out of this picture.........that are all out of it.

I guess at some point we are just celebrating still being alive...but this has been a good year with Dustin getting married and four new babies.

Dance Festival

Hey Everyone! Landon participated in Dance Festival this year with the stake. He did an awesome job and knew all the steps. We recorded videos but instead combined the videos into one short clip. Enjoy!

Blind Volleyball

Here is a short clip of what Landon and I have been doing a lot these days. It is a new game we came up with that we play over the fence. We have boundaries and you can only hit it twice (instead of the normal three). Its tons of fun.

We recorded 30 minutes on the Flip and then used a small program they have that basically sums the video and chooses its own highlights. So we didn't choose these highlights but it still works.

We spent a day at the zoo with Wyatt...oh Devin and Kim too!

That's a happy smile!

They had the biggest tortoises we'd ever seen and they were moving around too, but the only pictures of tortoises we got were these two.

This alligator seriously loved me. He got into the water and swam right up to my hand...we were only separated by a wire mesh fence and about an inch....I think he liked the vanilla hand lotion I had on. He swam away and then came right back. I felt like the crocodile hunter.

It is always fun to go to the zoo with Landon. He loves the animals and know alot about them...

Mothers Day 2011

The best part of Mothers day for me was thinking about each of my children and the funny and sweet memories I have of each of them. They truly are my greatest treasures!

Devin, Kim, Wyatt, Dustin, Moriah and Emily were here. We all went to the Harlows to baby Macks blessing and had a yummy breakfast and lunch. Brett, who couldn't be here sent these beautiful roses, (and even though I am having a bad hair day, I posted their picture)
I loved all the cards and the nice things they all remembered about me...I'm glad that my mistakes were temporally overlooked in honor of the day!

Kaley's Epic Win!

Dustin and Moriah are visiting us this weekend in Rexburg. We have had a great time so far! Last night we went to a Collin Raye concert- and went crazy when he sang Dads favorite "Little Red Rodeo"!

This morning we got up to get some exercise. We went to Porter Park and played frisbee and football. Before we decided to go home, we played Brett and Dustin vs. Kaley, Emily and Moriah. Dustin and I scored and there was only 25 seconds left on the play clock. They ran a play in the middle of the field and had 15 seconds left to score.

Emily played quarterback- Moriah and Kaley took off and the ball was launched in the air to Kaley in the end-zone who outran Brett and Dustin. She ran and caught the ball and full speed turned and ran straight into a tree. The tree isn't a normal tree trunk, but instead had knobs and knots everywhere.

She bounced off and we were all disgusted with the HUGE hole in her head. We took her to the hospital. Brett and Dustin went with her in the back to comfort her as she got 15 stitches- three on the inside and twelve on the outside.

We were on a walk and ran into three separate terrantulas................HUGE............and of course Mom touched the leg on accident and gave out a pretty loud scream. One of these came across the trail and mom came within inches of stepping on it and she didn't even know it.................i had to tell her it was there. Hobble Creek Half-Marathon 2010

We had so much fun last year, (torture), we decided to enter again this year, with the "Bwuddahs" running instead of the women (Kim, Denae, and Emily). Dustin was the overall winner at 1:31, Mommers got 2nd in her age bracket at 1:49 and Dave and Devin ran around the 1:45 area. Julie took it easy as she was pregnant but still easily beat me, Landon, Kaley, and Chad. Will we do it next year..................???????

100k or 68 Miles on a Bike

On Saturday, Dad and I did the 100k (that's 68 miles!) Foxy bike ride with our biker gang, Mike and Georgia.

Don't we look like serious bikers? This is the first rest stop after 25 miles...only 43 to go.

We're all wearing padding pants and Georgia has already had a tire blow out!

Lunch stop after 53 miles, starting to feel it!

Denny is such a hardcore biker he is even wearing his helmet to eat...I should have as I had serious helmet head.

This is what Landon did while we were gone for most of the day.

He really likes bossing players and coaches around on the soccer fields

We asked our hometeacher Lee Schafer to drive him to and from his games...I know it is not in his job discription but it will give him something to say when asked, "what is the weirdest thing you've had to do as a hometeacher?"

Running in the Hills

Monday while running in the hills I came around a corner and saw this. He was with two females and it is THAT time of year so I stopped and yelled alittle and they slowly got out of my way. Usually the deer here act a bit afraid of you but this time the buck thought he was pretty cool.

So today running in the hills I was exploring a new trail and I start up this hill and see above me about 80 yards (I'm using dads way of measuring...a football field!) a buck deer with a huge set of antlers and a girlfriend, female deer. So I think, "they'll move out of my way". All of a sudden another huge buck comes out of the bushes and I see this!!!

There was a serious fight going on, with clashing of antlers and grunts and dust flying. Then one of them loses his footing and turns and starts running downhill straight at me! I literally start screaming and waving my arms...there are no trees or anywhere for me to go....and I am screaming! About 30 yards before impact with me, he veers off the trail...right behind him comes the other one. I'm still screaming and waving and yelling so he will realize I'm not the type to want his girl! He, thankfully follows the first guy and I get out of there!

I thought for a minute that I was watching Natural Geographic!

It was pretty scary when out of everywhere he could have ran he choose to come straight at me. I thought, how cool will my kids feel when people say, "how did your mom die" and they could say, "she was gored and trampled by a deer!"

Lando went in for surgery to fix his collarbone. The first step was an IV.

He had a hard time with pain afterwards and he spent the night. He did really like the bed though, he could call the nurse, turn on and off the lights, raise his head or feet, and turn on the TV with just a touch of a tiny button right under his hand. He only had to move one finger.

He liked getting a couple of care packages from his sisters and treats from friends and another season of the Office from his parents.

He got to take the bandage off after five days and this is what was underneath!

Pretty big battle scar. Stitches out on Friday. I won't blog about it!

Northstar 2010, Landon's Downfall

So here we are very excited for our ski trip to Northstar. I couldn't wait to show Landon the great trails, especially the rollers on Jiboon!

It's a perfect day, warm, sunny, no lines!

On our fourth run, ready for Jiboon....and suddenly, we are flying down the slope and..we hit hard bumpy ice.

It is all over for Landon. Lucky a guy who works at Northstar was right behind us and new the number to call. We only had to wait a few minutes for our rescuer.

Landon is the third of the kids to get a ride down the mountain in the sled. Chad and Landons rides were for the reason they have sleds...an injury. Kaley's ride was "just for fun" and being too little to go to the top.
Kinda funny that both Chad and Landon broke their collarbones at Northstar...

This is probably where they make most of their money. There was a guy in the next bed with a badly broken wrist. We almost cried when they had to put his bones back in place. It's hard to hear a grown man whimper.

Love the non-boring color! And it has a dark charcoal interior.

It came with Bluetooth through the stereo system. When someone calls, He just has to hit a button on the steering wheel.

Did i mention it also has 8 stereo speakers.

This is where Dad parked the car, his new car is that tiny dot in the distance...and he took over my garage space!

As seen from his office..where he can keep an eye on it.

The infinity is 9 years old and has 175,000 miles on it. It is making an interesting noise and is more expensive than a normal car to repair, and seems to have more exotic things to go wrong with it...so it is now semi-retired. And by the way, when Mom rides in the new Camry she looks extremely "sexy" !!!

Why I Love living in California

It's the middle of February here in California and these are some of the sights I see everyday.

I pass this cool camellia tree everyday on my way to pick up Landon.

Also on my way is this tree. I think it is a magnolia tree and the flowers are as big as my hand. I seethese trees all over the place right now. Wish I had one!

BRIONES CREST LOOP HIKE

Saturday, Denny, Landon and I went on a hike called the Briones Crest loop. It was suspose to be 5.6 miles and take about 3 hours....unfortunately we didn't complete the loop as intended. We took a wrong turn and ended up in Pleasant Hill about 3 miles from the car. OPPS!

It was beautiful and 70 degrees in February.

A hike in the open space is just not complete for Landon anymore until a couple of days has passed and he starts breaking out all over in Poison Oak!

These pictures do not do it justice. It has been red and weepy and oozy!
He has had to wrap his arms in ace bandages to keep the pus off his clothes and other people.
Sweet Kaley won't let him anywhere near her or anything she owns!

Did I mention that he is on the volleyball team and has to use these arms to hit the ball?

KALEY IS 19!!

It is hard to believe that she is so old and grown up. For her birthday I took her to the movie, Dear John", the 11:00 showing. Denae and family came over for dinner, cake and presents. The next day she and I went to Wicked (yet again). We did the lottery and had very good seats because when the lights went down we moved over almost to the center. It was great!

Dustin is 22!

He was home with Moriah the weekend before his birthday so we had birthday/engagement cake!

I had mailed all his presents to Provo:(

We enjoyed Christmas with all most all of the family. The following pictures are a little out of order. We had the Crowleys and Leiningers over for Christmas Eve dinner and a program.

Thanksgiving 2009

We decided to travel to Utah, rather than have the kids come home to California for Thanksgiving. We were all there except for Denae and Dave -- they were in Utah in September. We had a great few days............13 of us went to the movie, "New Moon". We hit the mall at 4:00 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving. Brett, Emily, Kaley, Dustin, Landon, Jill and I were at Target for the door busters and were successful at what we went to get. We also had a snow ball fight where i was injured with gash to the forehead, lots of blood, but no one was able to hit me with a snowball. We had a BYU party , watching BYU beat Utah in football. And enjoyed the few days.............some of the pictures are below, but as usual we didn't take many.

This was at Tanya and Scott's home on Thanksgiving night. Lots of pie and lots of neices and nephews, kids, and grandkids.

San Diego Trip in October 2009

We planned a trip to the BYU/San Diego State game in October 2009. In addition to the football, we had to do some golf. We met Ernie and Bill Blodgett.............along with Chad and Devin and did some golfing, footballing, Sea World...ing, and eating. We had a great couple of days and BYU even won the game. Chad won the golf. Mom and Landon had fun at Sea World.

HALLOWEEN -- OCTOBER 2009

This is Landon during Homecoming Week on Michael Jackson Day. He's got some new moves.

Mom got these teeth and wanted to me to look about as scary as I could................I looked like this at the Ward party and most people did not know who I was until they saw mom.

This was Mom and she looks good no matter what she wears. And dressed back to her roots.

Me again..............looking pretty weird. If you look close enough you can see the resemblance between me and Chad and Devin.

The videos below are from Landon showing the grandkids what our house looked like when we gave out candy Halloween night. He had fun.........as the doorbell rang, he would shoot the fog machine and the girls would scream.

This is what the house looked like right before it got dark.

Halloween is over for another year. We only had about 60-70 kids show up at the door. But it was fun, and now we are left to eat all of the candy. Mom is going to look for some more teeth for next year. There were lots of comments today at church as to how I looked. At least for a night i had a "little piece of the glory".

Landon had his 14th birthday last month and he got some sweet presents.

The snake looking thing is actually a Sasquatch Nike Driver with a Nike cover.

This is our little baby that is now 14. Next year he gets to ride the Scooter to school.

Landon turned 14 in September and is now alone with mom and dad at home. It stinks to be him right now.............except he gets Mountain Mike's pizza every weekend. Watch out girls........Landon is now in high school.

We had so much fun running we have to keep posting pictures................We also publish this blog site into a book and it becomes a pretty good Family History.

Here we are after the race looking at our official times posted on the internet. I love my IPhone.........so does every one else in the family. We have 7 Iphones total among us all. Notice Jill looking at my time and thinking, "How was Denny's time so close to mine?" And of course Dustin could care less about the times...............he just knows someone has a camera !!

HOBBLE CREEK, UTAH HALF MARATHON

The Half Marathon Group -- August 2009. This is the group on Saturday night eating ice cream. We deserved it after running the half marathon...........next year we all plan on running. Right ?

Dave did well. Time......1 hour 47 minutes.

We had a great day as twelve of us ran....Mom, Dad, Julie, Denae, Dave, Kim, Emily, and Landon. In addition, Kim's sister Marissa and Julie's Dad, brother Luke, and sister-in-law Emily ran with us. 1,200 runners in all entered the race. The weather was great, the course was absolutely beautiful, and we were all happy to have it over with. However, we are already talking about doing another one and getting the men involed.......like Pete, Chad, Devin, Brett, and Dustin. Angie plans on running, also. We haven't convinced kaley yet as she thinks we are crazy. The pictures below are a start. We will find some more later on.

Brett and Dustin kept popping up during the race to make sure we were all still alive. They had fun, but wanted to run. Next time they will be running.

Here's the "oldest" member of the race team. There were 12 of us in total. Great day !!!

Denae and Emily did well. Emily ran it in 1 hour 58 minutes (beat me) and Denae did it in 2 hours 8 minutes. Don't they look cute and happy the race is over.

Julie is THE runner in our family. She has great form, knows what she is doing, and beat us all. She ran with the "men" in this race as she was in front. Her time was 1 hour 39 minutes.

We had tons of fun.............the run was hard........but rewarding. And it was so much fun to have the family there to root us on. Memorial Weekend 2009

On Memorial Day we met Dave and Denae and family at Round Valley State Park for a hike in the beautiful East Bay hills!

We hiked 3.5 miles to get to this picnic table...it was a little hotter and dryer than we expected!

This is the hot and dry part.

It must be a Blodgett thing, everywhere we go we find snakes! After the hike we cooled off with a refreshing dip in the pool. Even Denae and Mom got in.
And, of course, what is Memorial Day without burgers and hotdogs?

We had the greatest weekend. It was soooo much fun, relaxing, eating, movies, hiking, biking, hot tubbing, sauna-ing and shopping!

So thank you to all of my sweet children, Pete, Angie, Denae, Dave, Chad, Julie, Devin, Kim, Brett, Emily, Dustin, Kaley and Landon.

Our first stop was the Gilroy outlets where Dad picked out a new dress for me and made me get it for my upcoming birthday. It is really nice. We also got exercise clothes and shoes.

Weekend in Monterrey II

We ended our bike ride at this fun lighthouse built around 1850. Then headed back the way we came a total of 13 miles.

On the back to our hotel we stopped on Fishermans Wharf for a delicious bowl of clam chowder with bread!

Saturday morning we had a great breakfast at the Embassy Suites and then headed out to hike in Point Lobos National Park.

The views were breathtaking.
We saw lots of sea lions, deer, rabbits, and even a coyote but no whales.
It was such a fun hike with only a few people, I wish we could take you all there!

Weekend in Monterrey III

We rode our bikes on the famous seventeen mile drive. Starting in Pacific Grove and going a bit past the Pebble Beach golf course and then we turned around (avoiding the worst of the hills and seeing the best of the ocean views) and went back.

Denny's favorite part of the whole trip was visiting Pebble Beach again.

Here he is on the 17th hole. Yes, we walked all over the place!

It was really beautiful.

We went up to Kirkwood on Friday. It was mommers, Denae, Brett, Kaley, Landon and Landon's friend, Landon. We had a blast. It was a sunny day, very warm, and not crowded at all. The snow was pretty good at the top, a little icy and slushy at the bottom, but definitely good enough!! It was a good day with one minor incident when Denae fell off of the chair lift. LOL! Here are some pictures and within the next day or two I will put some videos on too.

Kaley, Kelly, and Val are the three graduating seniors from the girls varsity team 2009.

They are currently 23-3 and on their way to the Northern California Championship game.

The following pictues show number 13 at work. Kaley is fun to watch and has become a

defensive specialist and a deadly shot from 3-point land.

Northgate played their first game in the playoffs last night. The had a tough going for 2 1/2 quarters, but Kaley got hot and the game was over. She shot something like 12 for 17 from the field for 31 points. She also broke a Northgate High School record with 7 three-pointers.

THIS WAS WHAT WAS WRITTEN ON THE NORTHGATE WEBSITE

Broncos run past Montgomery - advance to Semi-Finals. Kaley Blodgett or "Big Game" Blodgett as coach Sopak refers to her, stepped up on center stage and delivered and delivered and delivered..... In all Blodgett netted 31 points, including 7 three pointers, which set a school record for 3 pointers in a game for the Broncos. Blodgett may have stole the show but the Broncos once again played outstanding team basketball with four players scoing in double digits, Janine Loutzenhiser scored 15 points, Kelly Peterson scored 11 and Kendra Hessel scored 10....... and of course Blodgett's 31. Val Middleton and Kelly Peterson both grabbed 9 rebounds and Courtney Hamilton flashed with 11 assists. Montgomery put up a great fight but in the end the pace of the game was just too much for the Vikings. With the win the Broncos move to 23-3 and advance to the Semi-Finals next Wednesday.

Landon had monday off and we decided to go for a hike to the top of Eagle Peak.

After lunch on the top we headed down the mountain and ended up on a trail that was taking us farther and farther from where we parked the car. Since we were on a schedule we took a trail that was basically a water trail and ended up in the middle of nowhere fighting our way through bushes and poisen oak. After we got through the bad part we came out in the middle of some field, stumbling in the grass to get to a trail. We found it and walked about a mile to get to the car. It was a really fun hike and me and mom couldn't help but laugh at ourselves and the way we emerged from the forest with twigs and leaves sticking out all over us and our legs all scratched up.

We had a great time on Christmas Eve at Mom and Dad's.... we wish everyone could have been there.

We had a delicious dinner, the nativity, dancing, stories and a yummy dessert.

Well, the Jeep finally bit the dust. Here it is getting its last tow.

It has seen alot and had adventures with everyone.

Angie got to drive it brand new. She and Sybil christened it by backing into each other.

Denae rear-ended a lady while on a quick trip for a bagel and was backed into by a girl in a parking lot.

Chad drove it so slowly when learning to drive that I had to keep telling him to speed up.

Devin hit someone while looking at friends as he was leaving school. And locked himself out of it countless times!

Brett made me chase the jeep down the street to get his necklace.

Dustin was rear-ended and the insurance paid us 1700.00, that was all that they said the Jeep was worth then. He left it with yellow paint on it from the poles at Northgate.

Kaley's only wish was to get to drive it like the other kids! She drove it on empty for weeks at a time.

I recieved my ballot yesterday and have never been more excited to vote. Emily got an assigment from her bishopric this week to volenteer at least four hours in the BYU-I calling center to call undecided voters in California. Alot of the men and woman I work with also have been recieving calls in their wards and stakes. They are helping us out up here and in Utah. There has been talk that if this passes, newly weds wouldn't be able to recieve pell grants at BYU becuase we do not support gay marriage. Also that we would have to get married first civily and then in the temple. My Costco Experience!

So I thought I would blog about my recent experience with Costco. First of all a little background. I am on vacation/break because I have been working and going to school since I got off my mission a year ago (however there is no money to prove that I have been working). My point is that during this summer I have chosen to sleep in more that normal. Yesterday my Mom come barging into my room around 9:00 am and starts listing off a million things I have to do... keep in mind that I was just awaken from a deep sleep so I was already confused as to what was going on... She said, "Brett listen, I need you to bake a batch of cookies before noon so I can take them to a luncheon. Then I need you to go to Costco to get oil, eggs, avocado, and hot dogs. Then could you wash the sheets of Landon's bed for Chad and Julie. Then if you could pick up the house please." She was very polite and nice about it. The first thing I said is, "Could you please write that all down and leave me a list before you leave with Kaley?" So the cookies and the sheets and the picking up were easy and fast. I then got in the car and headed for Costco. I flashed the Costco card and entered. Ok I have been to Costco plenty of times but never by myself. I had just a few things on my list but felt like I was a white man dropped into the middle of Tokyo!! I had no idea even where to begin. To add on to that there is no one really to ask... everyone that is in Costco seems to know exactly where to go. I was pushing a cart but getting bumped around and felt like everyone was racing to see who could shop the fastest.

I managed to get everything on my list except for the oil. I called my mother who was a little annoyed because I had called a number of times before and I asked her where I could find the oil. My mom has been shopping at Costco for maybe 30 years. She directed me through the phone to where I could find the oil. I hung up and then realized that there were what seemed to be millions of different kinds of oils. Corn oil, safflour oil, olive oil... I called my mom again and she said to get the one we always get. HELLO... I don't do this every month.... and I certainly don't pay attention to the oil we have because when do I ever use oil! Then I proceeded to check out. An old man cut me in line but I didn't say anything cause he was only buying a few items. Then as they were scanning my items they asked if Jill was there. I said no why... they said well she is the one with the account. I said well I am her son... Then the wouldn't let me use her credit card and wouldn't take my VISA credit card (who doesn't accept VISA? Hello?) So I had to use my debit card and I was lucky that I had enough money in there! Anyways that was my experience which was a little scary but I managed. When I got home to prepare for the BBQ I had to run to Safeway two more times after that to make sure we had everything!

Everything turned out great though and it was a lot of fun!!

High Adventure!

This past week Mom, Dad and I went on High Adventure for girls camp. It was tons of fun and very adventurous, almost to the point of deadly. We'll tell you details and stories when we see you because its too much to type. The first day we went rappeling. 80 ft cliff. The second day we climbed Half Dome. 17 miles in one day. The third day we went on a 1500 ft zipline 60 ft up in the air at Moaning Caverns. The fourth day we went whitewater rafting on the American River, classes 3, 4 and 5. Friday we went on a 14 mile bike ride up in Tahoe on the famous Flume trail. Very hard and very terrifying. Its a miracle no one died. Then we came home. Fun week.

Second of all, I would like to share a snippet of a conversation I had with the Bretters just moments ago. It made me laugh. Very typical Bretters.

Brett: So I went camping in Yellowstone this weekend!

Me: How fun!

Brett: Yeah, we saw a bear.

Me: Really? That's so cool... what kind of bear?

Brett: Well, I'm not so good at telling bears apart but I kind of narrowed it down. I know it wasn't a polar bear. I'm pretty sure it wasn't big enough to be a grizzly. So it was definitely a brown bear or a black bear.

Me: (dying laughing) I think you narrowed it down about right.

Brett: Well, I'm no Steve Erwin that's for sure!

Awkward Moments!

Ok so first one... I was walking home yesterday in the Rexburg 85 degree weather. I am a healthy kid and because I am healthy I sweat (a little) when it is hot and I am briskly walking. I crossed the street and was about 200 yards from the entrance to my apartment complex. All of a sudden a girl from my ward came out of the middle of nowhere and linked arms with me!! She is not to attractive, to me at least!... She linked arms with me and started to talk to me. My first thought, Um please get your big arm off my soon to be very sweaty arm!. My second thought, are you serious right now? My third thought, what is going on and please let me walk home in peace? I couldn't believe it... I asked her what her name was and was very nice to her. We walked with linked arms for like 100 yards and then she split off and went back to her apartment. I was very confused and was trying to think if she had to do that for a class or if she is just awkward. Not in a rude way but I hope that I don't "run into her again"!

The next one... Today I got a haircut and as I was sitting there I noticed that every other person there was talking to the person that was cutting their hair. I thought to myself, Am I suppose to spark up a conversation with this person? Aren't I kinda paying her to cut my hair and keep ME entertained for that half an hour? Also... when someone "plays with" your hair, it feels good and you get kinda sleepy.... right? Thus I don't really have a desire to talk... I think that I would rather just get in... and get out! I don't know... what do you all think?

A day in the Sun!

Ok so these last couple of weeks the weather here in Rexburg has been so nice. It has stayed pretty much in the 80s but as I was looking at the weather forecast this last week it said that Saturday it was going to be 90 degrees. I came up with the best idea ever... to rent a canoe from the campus outdoor center and float down the river with Emily. So thats what I did. I showed up Saturday to pick up the Canoe but they had double booked everything and there was no more left. So instead we got two river tubes to float down peacefully and enjoy the beautiful day. The date began and as we floated down, we ate our lunches and it was a lot of fun. We saw a baby deer and its mother drinking from the river. We saw a beaver swimming up stream with a branch in its mouth and we also saw a otter swimming around. But then it begun... The river started to branch off in different directions... there were forks and I didn't have any map and had never floated down the river before. We hadn't see any people or even signs of civilization for a while and so we didn't have anyone to ask!! We just kept choosing the bigger part of the river and the one with the most current. Then after three hours of floating down I started to wonder if we were ever going to arrive at the destination where my car was. Then the current stopped... I told Emily to hold on to my feet as I paddled... then the mosquitos started to come out!! Ok to make the story short it took us four hours to get to the park. The first three were great but then I had to paddle as my body was being eatin by mosquitoes... My roommate later counted and I had 119 bites on my back and they were all over my legs too... we finally did get to the park. But really what was I thinking, we could have ended up in the middle of no where! Also how am I not dead? How am I not lost? Do I have the West Nile virus? How is this girl Emily still talking to me? I might add that a flock of birds almost attacked us as we floated under and bridge where all their nests were! It was an interesting day and defiantly a fun memory!! (Sorry I don't have any real pictures!)

Backpacking in Zions

It all started about 10 years ago when I went to a family reunion in southren Utah and visited Zion's and Bryce National Parks. I loved the red cliffs and rock formations and I was told that you could backpack through incredible canyons. I really wanted to do that, but never got around to it. Then my brother Kevin sent me an email telling me that they had planned a trip and wondering if anyone in our family wanted to join them. So Landon and I packed up and drove 11 hours to St George and met Chad, Kevin, Justus, Marion, Travis, Dallin, Becca, Renae, Matt, Lance, Matt Pruitt, and Jake (our fearless guide who had done the trip before) and we had an amazing experience that we will not forget!

We hiked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, slept under the stars and a very full moon...I almost wanted to ask someone to turn out the light!

Cooked great meals on our little propane stoves.

This is a huge blockage caused by flash floods. We had to take off our packs to climb over and down. It was much steeper than it looks.

Wyatt Robert Blodgett was born at 7:17 am on Sunday, June 22, 2008

He weighed in at 6lbs, 2 oz and 20 inches long.

He is a really cute baby and the consensus so far is that he looks more like Kim. He definitely has her big beautiful eyes.

I will let Devin and Kim tell the whole story later but they said it was okay if I posted a few pictures.

BYU Grad/ Working Man!!

I must first apologize. This post has been long over due....please forgive me.

As many of you know Devin recently graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis in finance! What an accomplishment! I am super proud of him, especially since BYU has a nationally ranked business program and Devin got to be a part of it! :) Below are some pictures of my handsome husband on his graduation day.

Lastly, we ran into Mike and Marci on campus because Marci's sister-in-law also graduated on the same day. It seemed only appropriate that Devin got a picture with Mike on graduation day since these two have been inseparable since I have known Devin. Mike was a big part of Devin's BYU experience...intramurals, almost every class together, roommates, and living next door to each other once married.

Now, Devin has moved into a new chapter in life. He is a working man! He graduated with a job at Goldman Sachs! Way to go Dev! He started this last week. Here is a picture of him on his first day of work. Doesn't he look nice and if I might say so, very professional? So far, he has enjoyed it! Good work Devin! We are all very proud of you!

Ok so the rumor is that I am not that modest. Everyone claims to have "seen me" at one point or another. Yes I do remember Kim and that insident but I can't remember anyone else getting that privledge (teasin). Ok so yesterday there were some people over. I wasn't sure exactly who was over and I was getting ready for a date. I was just in my garments. Ya know the whole shirt tucked into the mesh bottoms. People don't look attractive like that and really they look pretty dang funny!! So I casually walked from my room into the bathroom. As I was half way I froze, just like a deer in headlights... a girl that I had just met was standing there staring at me. I quickly dove head first into my roommates room with a scream. ohh man! What an embarrassing moment... wow I was so scared to go out and see her again. So I got ready went out there and quickly looked at her and said in a soft voice, "sorry". So if I had boxers, or even briefs it wouldn't have been so bad. It would have been at least a little bit normal... but me in all white garments, with the shirt tucked into the mesh bottoms in just plain embarrassing!!

Our sweet family dog of 14 years passed away last week. Shadow was as loyal and good as they come. She was old and it was her time to go but still we will miss having her around.

The Grandkids did a balloon release in honor of Shadow. They sent balloons to her in heaven!

You know you are addicted to golf when you will play in this type of weather. Denny, Chad, Devin and Ernie got through 9 holes at Thanksgiving Point last week. They finally called it quits when they couldn't find their ball in the snow. Too bad it wasn't a better day but they have a fun memory and can say they played in a blizzard.
