Summer 2009

To all of the Blodgett siblings:

So Chad came up with an idea... a really good idea.

Summer 2009 all of the adults in this family are invited to go on an adult trip to Maui.

Dad is looking into housing arrangements.

Meanwhile, you need to start saving a little extra cash and plan for a babysitter for your kids. Oh yeah, and if you are going to be having a baby any time soon... the sooner the better. The baby should be born in time for he/she to be old enough to leave for 5-6 days in the Summer of 2009. I think this should work out since those having babies soon will probably have them next year right?

Dustin will be back, and all 8 siblings can be together for the first time in 4 or so years. Sound like a plan? Dave and I will be there FOR SURE. And I hope everyone else will plan on it too!

What do you think???

Love Hawaii and sounds good, but I certainly appreciate the unwelcomed involvement in the planning of the lives of those "having babies soon". I think that should be left up to the couple and family and hawaii planning definitely comes second. So we will see what happens with those planning on babies soon, but my advice is to plan your family however you feel inspired to do so and then worry about the trip. Love you all!!! (Sorry if that sounded harsh, wasn't meant to, kinda kidding but kinda serious :)

Dev, just to clarify.... the comment to "those planning on having babies soon" was directed toward a number of people... not just you and Kim. Dave and I are hoping to have one a.s.a.p.... as well as Chad and Julie... right guys???? Do you have an upcoming blog?? AND I am pretty sure Ang and Pete are going to adopt another baby within the next year. Right Ang and Pete? So it was directed toward all of the 4 older siblings... please don't feel as though I was trying to plan just YOUR life... I'm really trying to plan everyone's.

elkins express! You are so right! This whole conversation is so doc awk and I wish it had not happened!

It's not doc awk...were family, isn't it about time????

Denae is right, and I will announce my "pregnancy". no, I am not pregnant (thanks goodness, or you would all feel of my emotional wrath and pain- from hormones and issues) but we have all our papers in and are ready for a new baby! I just turned the last thing in today, so in a couple weeks when the back ground check comes back we can be shown to birthmoms. Please pray for us! It could be soon or years...we have to be picked. So, we'll see.
In the meantime, I will be saving my money for our trip but I am at a HUGE loss of who will watch my kids. everyone else has inlaws! Any ideas?? (and please congratulate me on my "pregnancy")

Oh! I just had an idea!! maybe if the "elkins express" doesn't have any grandchildren yet...my kids could fill in and be "substitute" grandkids for a week while I am soaking up the rays in Maui!!

teas'in!!

seriously, I know I have years to think about a babysitter, but I am a little stressed already.

Congrats Ang!!! Sorry about the confusion the "elkins express" was me...Kim.

Oh great! Now, I feel like when I said "isn't it about time" some people-(devin) might think I meant him and a baby. When I said "family...isn't it about time"? i thought of Brett jumping in the pool yelling that a few years ago... you know from all the Mormon comercials.
sorry if people thought I was in anyway hinting about a baby!!!

I am glad the Blodgett Buzz is up and running again.

ha ha ha ha! Isn't is about time? Is so funny and I do remember Brett saying it. Now as far as babysitters. Something we might do (since we probably won't have Susie babysit since she'll probably be living across the country) is hire an older (18 or older) college girl that we trust. Or another idea we had is to hire a young newly married couple. Maybe you could even hire a younger cousin of ours that is newly married living in the area. Dave and I were hired to watch some kids for 2 weeks when we were young and newly married. Anyway... just some ideas of what we might do. What do you think?

Can I just say, that your family is completely awesome! I've been lurking on a couple of your blogs and have really enjoyed how close ya'll are. Have those babies quick ladies. (totally kidding)

My kids will be birthed and weaned by then so I'm in! I think we should stay longer than 6 days so we can have more time together. I do plan to get pregnant on the trip so let's not chit chat too late into the night!
