Landon had monday off and we decided to go for a hike to the top of Eagle Peak.

After lunch on the top we headed down the mountain and ended up on a trail that was taking us farther and farther from where we parked the car. Since we were on a schedule we took a trail that was basically a water trail and ended up in the middle of nowhere fighting our way through bushes and poisen oak. After we got through the bad part we came out in the middle of some field, stumbling in the grass to get to a trail. We found it and walked about a mile to get to the car. It was a really fun hike and me and mom couldn't help but laugh at ourselves and the way we emerged from the forest with twigs and leaves sticking out all over us and our legs all scratched up.

That sounds so fun! Hiking is great, but off-trail hiking is exciting. We'll have to come with you next time. I still have pictures from our last trip that I need to post... they are cute.

Wow! What a great view! Sounds like so much fun Lands- so glad you guys didn't get lost and a rescue party had to be sent out to find you!
