March Madness 2007

Hi Everyone - whoever wants to get into a NCAA tournament "March
Madness" contest ................here are the rules:

1. Print your bracket form from
www.cbssportsline.com.........
......"printable". That way all of sheets
will look the same.

2. Your brackets have to be filled out by Wednesday night in
"ink".............no changes beginning Thursday.

3. You can fill out as many as you want, but each bracket will cost
you $4 (prize money for the three winners). Money paid when sheet
received. No loans.

4. Dad will keep the point totals and the money. So I will need to
get everyone's copy and money. I will pick up the ones in Utah this
week.

5. The points will go like this -- 1st round 2 pts. per
winner.......... 2nd round 4 pts. per winner.......... Regionals 8
pts. per winner (both games)......... Semi-finals 10 pts. per
winner........... and the championship game 12 pts for the winner.
Obviously you get more points as your teams move onward. If you look at
the top of the page you can see the different rounds typed out. Each
round will get the different points mentioned above.

Only Blodgett, Abilla, Harlow family members allowed in the contest.
(And Ernie, if you want in). No friends. Sorry. We want to keep the
winners and the money in our family.

I would expect a sheet from Mom, Angie & Pete, Julie, Denae, and Landon.
It is just a guess anyway..................Devin thinks he knows who is
going to win, but he really doesn't. Either does Chad. Either do I.
So if the parents want the little kids to enter, that is fine as long as
everyone pays the $4 per entry. If you need help in filling out the
bracket, give me a call and I can help. The selection of teams that you
think are going to win, is anyone's guess. Each team has a "seed"
number assigned to it so you can see if they are favored or not. But
that doesn't really matter much. Last year George Mason was in the
final four and they were an 11 seed. There will always be a "sleeper"
team, so the fun is trying to figure out who that may be.

The payout will go as follows: Winner gets 60% of the pot, second place
gets 30% of the pot, third place gets 10% of the pot. No ties. If
there is a tie, the tie-breaker will be determined by the closest to the
total score of the championship game. So on your sheet, put the final
game score. If we get $80 total in the pot...................1st place
gets $48, 2nd gets $24, and 3rd gets $8. No ties.

I am up for revisions to the above plan. If you have strong objections
to the rules, then you can submit them to the March Madness Committee
and we will take them into consideration. If the committee thinks the
changes are favorable to the contest members, then the changes will be
made and everyone will be notified.

That is it. If anyone can remember who won last year it would be nice
to know that. I am old and I can't even remember last week. I know we
would all like BYU to go far, but unfortunately they will probably lose
the first weekend. If they win the first game against Xavier, they play
the number one team in the country (Ohio State) the second game. So it
stinks to be BYU. But maybe they could be a "sleeper". Maybe we could
all fast 24 hours before the game.

Get your brackets filled out soon and............... LET THE GAMES BEGIN
!!!!!

Dad

P.S. In case anyone was wondering..................the March Madness
Committee is Me.
